Hello. I'm Melissa. Thanks for stopping by. As you've probably gathered by now, I'm a graphic and web designer. I've been working in Tokyo, Japan for a little over 5 years now. When I'm not on my computer designing stuffs, I'm painting watercolor illustrations, cooking good food for me and my husband, and taking care of my tiny garden out on the balcony.
I'm Indonesian, born and bred. I lived in Australia for a few years as a kid so English is sort of my second mother tongue. I came to Japan in 2007 on a scholarship from Monbukagakusho. I went to Japanese Language school in Osaka for a year, then went to a technical college in Shibuya called Nihon Designer Gakuin. I graduated in 2010 with a Diploma in Graphic Design and I've been working as a Web and Graphic Designer ever since.
Having worked that long as a designer in Japan, I've learned a lot, but the most important thing that I've learned is that I truly love what I do for a living. I thank all the people who've given me the opportunity and insight to grow as a designer and I look forward to more opportunities to come.
